I’m a few days late to this party, for several reasons (one of which is procrastination, as always, and NaNoWriMo is yet another). But back in July/August, I sold a short story to Dreamspinner Press for their Hot Off the Press anthology. And that anthology is now out. And I now have two copies of my first ever physically-in-print writing sitting on my coffee table. I just keep staring at them.
Jester Hinkel and the Thrust of Destiny, story number 11, is my contribution. Jester Hinkel, a book reviewer who specializes in romances, no longer believes in love because of his crappy luck. His roommate sends him a picture of a hot guy to cheer him up, but the man in the picture—Santiago—has been cursed by a witch to live in pixel form until he stops thinking of himself every time he does something good for someone else. Santiago might help Jester enjoy reading about love again—if he can convince Jester he isn’t a virus.
Anyway, there are sixteen stories included in the anthology, the ebook is $6.99 –a steal!–and you can buy it from Dreampsinner, Amazon, ARe, or whatever other third party distributors you usually buy books from.
In other news, I have another contract with Loose Id for a full-length novel tentatively called Death by Dragon, and the pub date is currently set for February. And I’m working on the third Faire story as my NaNoWriMo project, though this rough draft has decidedly fewer guns and assassins than the last couple of books. It’s going to be a busy few months!
